NBA and NextVR continue to provide VR on-demand service for a further contract for one year

Watching the Houston Rockets player Chris Paul on TV, passing the ball to James Harden, the midfielder's all-star teammate, and smashing the score with lightning speed. Obviously not as shocking as wearing virtual reality headsets. The good news is that NBA and NextVR have reached another year of cooperation and will continue to provide fans with streaming VR on demand services this season. The Rockets have 27 VR tournament schedules and they will face the Dallas Mavericks on October 21.

Although it is very immersive to watch sports events through VR, everyone does not seem to have too much enthusiasm. One of the main reasons, perhaps, is that the comfort of wearing a VR helmet is not good enough. For the VR industry, this is indeed a problem, but the NBA has decided not to give up this market.

Three years ago, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent $3 billion to acquire Oculus VR. This week, he also revealed that he hoped to attract 1 billion VR users through price cuts (but did not disclose when they would like to reach the goal).

The second quarter of the NBA VR broadcast is actually part of a multi-year agreement. Last season, all 30 NNA teams embraced VR. Fans can watch through Samsung GearVR and Google Daydream (supporting Microsoft's mixed-reality headsets from next week).
