TPV said that the establishment of a new operational headquarters in Taiwan will be finalized at the end of the year and will be locked in New Taipei City, which will expand its existing headquarters in Zhonghe. The chairman and chief executive of TPV, Xuan Jiansheng, negotiated a new location and selected a new home that can co-ordinate a block.
TPV's current Zhonghe operation headquarters, including 1,700 R&D engineers, and 300 procurement and business operations, will expand its operational headquarters and require a larger factory. In the past year, nearly 500 people have been recruited in Taiwan, and the number will exceed in the future. 2,000 people will include a variety of functions in R&D, manufacturing, business and management.
TPV stressed that it is actively integrating the development of Taiwan's R&D, procurement and business talent resources, and actively cooperating with the government's policy of rooting in Taiwan, and actively looking for a new Taiwan operation headquarters.
Under the leadership of Xuan Jiansheng, TPV has become the world's largest original manufacturer of LCD monitors. In 2010, shipments will reach 55 million LCD monitors, with a global market share of 33%; LCD TV shipments will reach 1,500 in 2010. Wantai is ranked third in the world.
In terms of OEM scale, TPV has been ranked as the world's largest LCD TV foundry for many years. It is estimated that shipments will reach 18 million units next year, up 20% from this year, and the size ranges from 15 inches to 47 inches. The brands include Sony, Philips, LGE, Vizio, Changhong, and AOC.
TPV's procurement has a close cooperative relationship with Taiwanese companies, forming an "anti-Hong Alliance". This year, AUO will purchase LCD panels and TV panels, which will account for the largest amount. It is actively producing LED-backlit LCD TVs, and also with Yiguang and Jingdian. LED has upstream and downstream cooperation.
