Looking back on 2011, two G20-LED summits brought a new atmosphere to the industry.
In August 2011, the first G20-LED summit was held in Shanghai. The leaders of the 20 global LED industry representatives from the perspective of their own and industry from the perspective of their own "overcapacity", from their respective industry chain links have been fully explored and communicated, and reached a consensus.
Everyone agrees that with the near-explosive growth of the number of LED operators in China, LED companies have also expanded from the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta to most of northern China and even the northwest. However, it is not objective and unscientific to emphasize overcapacity, and it is not conducive to the healthy development of China's LED industry.
Dr. Zhang Xiaofei, Secretary General of the Summit, gave a strong boost to the basic market research data: "According to the data of the High-tech LED Industry Research Institute, the current average growth rate of the entire LED industry is 55%, so we don't think there will be any big The problem of the closure of an enterprise. Even if the global economic growth is weak, I think LED lighting is a sunrise industry, and this will not happen."
In December 2011, the second G20-LED summit was held in Shenzhen. At this time, the Chinese LED industry is experiencing a cold spell, and the crisis caused by the multi-generation is spreading across the country. On the one hand, it is due to the poor overall economic environment, and on the other hand, due to overheated investment. Previously, the optimistic expectations of LED backlight penetration were not as good as expected, and the LED lighting startup was temporarily invisible, which led to overcapacity and corporate closure.
The theme of the 2nd meeting was "Competition in Competition". The leaders of 20 companies discussed the current LED industry dilemma and changes in the market competition environment, and sought to maximize the role and influence of the G20-LED Summit. Cooperation between enterprises to jointly resolve the crisis.
