EU releases draft regulations for lighting and lighting energy labels

The European Commission issued Bulletin G/TBT/N/EU/35, which communicates that the Authorisations Regulations stipulate energy labelling requirements for lamps and lamps. The draft will replace the 98/11/EC Directive on the identification of household electric light sources and will enter into force on September 1, 2013.

The bill stipulates energy labeling requirements for the following four types of electric lamps: tungsten lamps, fluorescent lamps, high-intensity discharge lamps, LED lamps, and the responsibility of suppliers and distributors. The draft does not apply to the following products:

Light flux less than 30lm;

The lighting products sold on the market with the battery as the main power source;

Products not available on the market with a visible light range of the light source product in the range of 380 to 780 nm;

a product sold on the market that is installed in a light fixture and that consumers cannot replace the light source;

As a part of the product, the main purpose is not to market the illuminated product.

The draft requirements, in addition to meeting the general requirements of Directive 2010/30/EU, also specify examples of energy efficiency labels and information requirements for lamps and luminaire products.
