**Material Preparation:** 1. **Neutral Formaldehyde Fixative:** - Use formaldehyde (37%-40%, commercially available) at 100 mL. - Dissolve 6.5 g of disodium hydrogen phosphate and 4 g of potassium dihydrogen phosphate in 900 mL of distilled water. - Mix thoroughly and store in a well-sealed container. 2. **1% Hydrochloric Acid Solution:** - Prepare by mixing 1 part of concentrated hydrochloric acid with 70% alcohol, making up to 100 parts total. - This solution is ideal for cleaning and preparing surfaces before further processing. 3. **Glycerin Paste:** - Combine 50 mL of glycerol with 50 mL of protein solution. - Add 1 g of sodium salicylate as a preservative to prevent microbial growth. - Stir gently until fully mixed. 4. **Formulation Process:** - **Step 1:** Crack an egg into a bowl or cup, separating the yolk from the white. - **Step 2:** Use a glass rod to whip the egg white into a light, foamy consistency, similar to snowflakes. - **Step 3:** Filter the mixture through coarse paper or double-layered gauze. Let it sit for several hours or overnight to ensure clarity. - **Step 4:** Add an equal volume of glycerin to the clear protein solution and shake gently to mix. - **Step 5:** Finally, add 1 g of sodium salicylate as a preservative to extend shelf life. - The final product can be stored for several months when kept in a cool, dark place. This process ensures a stable and long-lasting protein-based solution suitable for various applications, including biological experiments or material testing.
