The TDK Group has launched a groundbreaking aluminum electrolytic capacitor designed with exceptional anti-vibration performance, rated at 60g in accordance with the IEC60068-2-6 standard. These new EPCOS capacitors are engineered for durability and reliability, offering superior vibration resistance alongside outstanding electrical characteristics. Available in three different terminal configurations—axial leaded, welded star, and double plate—they come in a range of sizes from 16mm to 25mm (18mm x 39mm in diameter x length). Capacitance values span from 270μF to 5800μF, with voltage ratings between 25V and 100V. Notably, all models with 60g seismic resistance can operate up to 150°C and meet the AEC-Q200 standard, making them ideal for high-demand environments.
The axial design of these capacitors provides a significant advantage over traditional leaded designs. The flexible connection between the lead strips and aluminum foil helps prevent vibrations from directly affecting the terminals. Additionally, the core is securely held within the aluminum casing through both axial and radial fixing forces. A ring-shaped pressed corrugation in the middle of the casing ensures stability in the radial direction, enhancing overall structural integrity.
These advanced EPCOS capacitors are widely used in DC-DC converters and motor inverters, particularly in automotive electronics where reliability and performance are critical. Their robust construction makes them suitable for applications that require long-term operation under harsh conditions.
