This site is the first to test the ViewSonic ViewSonic LS820 laser TV.

Recently there was a conceptual product called “Laser TV”. The Baidu Index also included this word. Actually, there is also a laser TV and no screen TV. All this is achieved by using a laser projector and a special curtain reflection image.

For audio and video enthusiasts, leisure time can watch large movies at home, but also experience the cinema feel is the best! TVs are now becoming larger and larger, and prices have fallen a lot. But if you really want to have a cinematic feel, LCD TVs should be at least 100 inches or more. Regardless of the source of supply and high price, it is generally a very troublesome thing to live at a high level.

Not much to say, now look at the ViewSonic laser TV to be reviewed this time.

Let me talk about it. All of the photos below are shots of the Canon 5DII, just compressed inside pixels!

The first is the appearance: laser television uses two layers of packaging, very strong. After opening, you can see inside. Compared to traditional projectors, the projector is still quite large.

Unpacking is a laser projector and all its accessories.

Appearance above, this machine uses a paint-type plastic. The streamlined design is adopted as a whole, and the versatile black can be used in various special environments. If it's metal, then for laser TVs, because one installation doesn't need to move, I think about 30kg of weight is needed, which is a bit lighter.

There are two 8w speakers in front of the machine, but if you really want good audio and video effects, it is really recommended to use a 5.1 or 7.1 channel audio. With the subwoofer, turning off the lights, it really feels like home theater! The front of the machine has a very complete interface. The design can hide the lines well in the front, making the overall look more concise.

The laser projector uses a laser light source as its name implies. The advantage lies in the fact that the first is the service life, which is about 5 times that of the general projector, and the service life is more than 20,000 hours. It can be used without replacement for lifetime use. The second is the projection distance. Compared to a typical projector, a laser projector is ultra-short-focus. The parameter table above says that 55cm is required to cast 100 inches, but as long as the actual 25cm can cast 100 inches, compared to ordinary projectors that need to be lifted, this is obviously a lot convenient, and the space occupancy is also very small.

Look at the actual projection distance

Next, take a look at this curtain, the appearance of the curtain looks much larger than the average received package, and it is very heavy, to 23kg. Inside the outer packaging, you can see large and small iron bars. The curtain is in an oval bucket.

The matching metal curtain of this projector is not a general curtain. The surface of this curtain is irregularly shaped and can reflect light from sources other than the projector below. The color gain of this projection screen will be much better!

First look at the contrast between scenes with and without scenes

Then, in terms of color gain, the camera was removed to reach the Rec. 709 color gamut. You can look at the comparison chart below, you can see the left side is a bit like an IPS screen, and the right screen color is similar to the display's TN panel, the overall color is white.

To sum up, the color of this machine is color, can reach 100% of the Rec. 709 color gamut, there is a film feeling. The second is the unilateral correction function of the four corners. The laser with this function is really not much, and this is very convenient when adjusting.

Of course, laser projection is not an ordinary digital device after all. There is a certain degree of complexity in the use of the laser projection. If there is no professional personnel to teach the first adjustment, it is more troublesome.

Compared to conventional televisions with a hundred inches, laser televisions are small and lightweight, and they can be handled without a crane. All laser projectors on the market today must be equipped with special metal curtains, because they all use diffused light rather than direct light, so they can protect vision and will not feel tired for a long time.
