The company purchased GT's ASFTM sapphire crystal growth furnace in January 2011 and has completed the initial installation. On March 2nd, at the opening ceremony of the new sapphire production plant, OCI said it has begun to deliver 6-inch sapphire ingots and 2-inch and 4-inch products to top manufacturers in Taiwan and South Korea. The new plant is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, with an annual production capacity of 4 million mm sapphire.
GT said it worked closely with OCI's production and engineering teams throughout the process to build the most advanced sapphire production plant, which is now producing high quality materials.
