Both chips integrate H.264/AAC audio/video (A/V) decoding to meet the rapidly growing demand for mobile digital TV (DTV) in the Latin American market at a lower overall cost.

By integrating audio/video decoding into ISDB-T System-on-a-Chip (SoC) products, Newport Media has greatly simplified the design difficulty of adding digital TV to consumer electronics, including mass-market cellular phones. This simplification is achieved by eliminating third-party A/V decoder chips or by relying on expensive cellular baseband processors. The result is a significant reduction in bill of materials costs and a significant time-to-market.

The NMI5625 and NMI5325 products are based on Newport Media's industry-leading 65nm process product ISDB-T tuner/demodulator SoC with an innovative A/V decoder architecture to complete ISDB-T digital TV complete RF tuner and demodulator And the A/V decoder function requires less than 80mW of power.
