Considerations for proper use of the multimeter

Only the correct use of the multimeter can guarantee the accuracy of the measurement results without damaging the meter. Should pay attention to when using:

1. Before each measurement, the multimeter should be placed horizontally to observe whether the pointer refers to zero. When the pointer does not mean zero, use the screwdriver to slightly adjust the mechanical zero point screw of the meter to make the pointer zero.

2. The red and black test leads should be properly inserted into the multimeter jack. Turn the switch knob to place on the range of the electrical parameter to be measured, and never misplace it.

3. If you do not know the approximate range of the measured voltage and current values, you should first use the maximum voltage block and maximum current block on the table to predict, and then use the appropriate range measurement.

4. If you are not sure about the positive and negative polarity of the circuit under test, you can put the rotary switch knob in the highest gear. When measuring, gently touch the circuit under test with the test pen, and observe the deflection direction of the pointer to determine the positiveness of the circuit. negative electrode.

5. If you are not sure whether the voltage to be measured is AC or DC voltage, you can first estimate it with the highest voltage of the AC voltage, get the approximate range of voltage, and then measure with the DC voltage of the appropriate range. No deflection occurs, and it is determined that this voltage is an AC voltage, and if there is a reading, it is a DC voltage.

6. When measuring current and voltage, the correct range should make the head pointer indicate more than half of the range, and the error of the result is small.

7. When measuring the voltage, pay more attention to the position of the conversion knob, and never put it on the current or the gear. Otherwise, the head will be damaged, and the hands will be bent, and the multimeter circuit components or the hairspring and deflection yoke will be burnt.

8. When measuring high resistance value resistors, do not touch the two ends of the resistor with both hands, so as to avoid connecting the human body resistance to the resistance to be tested.

9. When measuring the resistance installed on the instrument, turn off the power of the instrument, and solder one end of the resistor to the circuit for measurement. If there is a capacitor with a large capacity in the part to be tested, the capacitor should be discharged before measuring.

10. When measuring resistance, re-adjust the zero ohm knob every time you change the range. If you find that adjusting the zero ohm knob does not make the pointer zero ohm, you should not twist the knob, but replace the battery.

11. When reading, the two eyes should observe the pointer vertically and should not be squint.

12. When saving the multimeter, put the conversion knob to the highest position of the AC current voltage. Remove the battery from the watch when it is not used for a long time. Place the multimeter in a dry, ventilated, clean place.

Silver Flex Membrane Switches

Silver Flex membrane switches are the most common construction for flexible, custom membrane keypads. It is also the most popular Membrane Switch construction due to its affordability, especially when compared to bulky, costly electromechanical switch assemblies. Silver flex membranes switches feature very thin flexible layers of material, of which some layers utilize screen printed silver and carbon conductive inks, and are separated by an adhesive layer.
