Samsung plans to release the first mango system smartphone by the end of October

Beijing time on September 27 news, according to foreign media reports, the world's second largest mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics announced on Monday that it will be released in Italy at the end of October the first based on Microsoft's latest mobile operating system that is the mango system of smart phones.

Samsung adopts a multi-platform strategy for smart phones. The mobile operating systems it uses include Android, Microsoft's Windows Phone, and its own Bada system.

Samsung said in a statement that the forthcoming smartphone based on the Microsoft Mango system is called Omnia W, which is equipped with a 3.7-inch AMOLED display and 1.4GHz processor. Later, this phone will be gradually promoted to the global market, including Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and South-West Asia. A Samsung spokesperson said that the release date of this phone in the U.S. market has not yet been finalized.

Microsoft released the latest version of the Windows Phone system in May. It expects that the addition of new features to the new system will help it bridge the gap between smartphone leaders Google and Apple.

Samsung announced on Sunday that its Android smart phone, the Galaxy S2, has sold more than 10 million units in five months. The phone is also Samsung’s fastest selling handset. Samsung also released two LTE versions of the Galaxy S2 smartphone on Monday in Korea, determined to fight the Apple iPhone.

Smartphone sales are one of the few highlights of Samsung's business. It is also a leading global memory chip manufacturer, flat panel display and TV manufacturer.
