Today's TV product development is lagging, and users are eager to find new exciting features. Projectors are becoming increasingly popular among more and more consumers due to their unmatched advantage of large screen sizes. Especially in recent years, projectors have undergone a remarkable transformation with the integration of laser technology and 4K support, making building a home theater with a 4K projector a growing trend.

The three products we selected for this horizontal review are the top 4K models on the market, but they use different light sources. Through our test data, users can understand the actual performance of each light source type, and also see how home projectors are leading the future direction of display technology.
**Appearance: A Clear Difference in "Personality"**
First impressions matter, and projectors are no exception. A stylish design makes users more curious and interested. When placed in a living room, it doesn’t feel out of place. However, due to the homogenization of performance across manufacturers, the appearance remains a key differentiator. From the look of the devices, you can sense the "personality" behind each brand.
**Polar Rice T1 – First Impression: Excellent Material and Craftsmanship**
The Polar Rice T1 is a new model launched by Rami Technology in July. It’s positioned as a "life winner," targeting high-end users. The design takes inspiration from guqin aesthetics, using metal and black walnut materials. The addition of North American black walnut softens the cold metal feel. The overall shape deviates from traditional square designs, featuring an arched top that balances the metallic look. Each unit is unique due to the natural wood used. It weighs 23.5 kg, with dimensions of 836 x 396 x 174.5 mm.
**Acer VL7860 – First Impression: The Lightest and Smallest 4K Projector**
The Acer VL7860 made its debut at IFA 2017 in Berlin and was called "the lightest 4K projector." It features a sleek silver and white color scheme, simple yet fashionable. Its lightweight design is a standout feature. It weighs only 8.5 kg and has dimensions of 458 × 289 × 157 mm.
**BenQ W11000 – First Impression: A Tough Guy**
The BenQ W11000 is one of the earliest 4K projectors released by BenQ. Known for its technological leadership, the design remains somewhat traditional, giving off a strong professional vibe. It weighs 14.8 kg and measures 470.7×224.9×564.7 mm.
**Summary:**
From an aesthetic standpoint, the Polar Rice T1 stands out with superior materials and craftsmanship. However, as mentioned earlier, the design reflects the brand's identity. Acer and BenQ focus more on technology, which is understandable given their backgrounds.
**Brightness and Contrast Test – Projector Basics**
Due to the imaging principle, image quality is influenced by various attributes and must be balanced. Highlighting one attribute doesn't necessarily mean better image performance. In the following sections, we will conduct an objective comparison of the three models, highlighting subtle differences and re-analyzing their positioning. This helps users gain a clearer understanding of the properties of new products, technology applications, and the market landscape.

Our brightness tests are conducted from multiple angles. Due to varying environments, users should consider their own viewing conditions and external lighting factors. We aim to minimize errors and provide objective data for reference.

ANSI brightness represents the optimized brightness for the best image display, with high reference value. We don't test maximum brightness because it often leads to washed-out colors, which aren't suitable for regular viewing. Similarly, maximum contrast isn't practical, so we focus on balanced performance rather than single-attribute hype.
**Working Status: Power Consumption, Noise, and Temperature Test**
Currently, 4K projectors are expensive, and most buyers are professional enthusiasts. These users pay close attention to details like noise and heat. While unavoidable, these factors can be minimized through technical solutions. In this test, we evaluated the noise, temperature, and power consumption of each model.

From the results, all three models are tailored for professionals. Their noise levels are around 55 decibels, barely noticeable during normal use. Operating temperatures are about 45°C, with the T1 performing exceptionally well at 39.5°C. All three consume over 300W, averaging 335W per hour.
**Tricolor Test**
Our first step in color testing is to assess the projector's ability to handle color transitions and general color accuracy. We will compare the colors further in later tests.

**Summary:**
In terms of color, the three models performed excellently in color testing, with smooth and vivid color reproduction.
**4K Quality Comparison**
We used a human skin tone test chart to evaluate HDR nebula and 4K video performance. The same device was used, and the environment was consistent. Through actual shooting samples, we could clearly feel the differences between the machines. We'd like to thank Extreme Technology for providing the 4K test video.

**Summary:**
The actual test results of the three machines were impressive. The T1 showed clear advantages in brightness, vibrant colors, clean images, and rich layers. The Acer VL7860 offered accurate color display, rich layers, and detailed clarity. The BenQ W11000 focused on color accuracy, delivering full-color pictures, though it had lower brightness and appeared slightly darker overall.
**Hengping Summary**
4K has brought projectors into a new era, significantly improving image quality. The test results of the three models fully support this. One major obstacle to 4K adoption today is price—many users are deterred by the high cost. However, user interest continues to grow, indicating that as TVs stagnate, people are seeking new visual experiences. 4K projectors are set to become the core of home displays. Once prices become more affordable, the market is poised for a big breakthrough.
